The Civil/Military Specialist will be responsible for advising  the Office of Transition Initiative's program on matters of this specialty.  He/she will work  closely with Embassy/DATT.  Most of OTI's initiatives related to  civil/military affairs will be implemented by U.S. NGOs or  contractors, therefore the PSC's role will be to advise and  monitor these initiatives, and work with TDYers, visiting  experts, other donors, and interested civil society groups in  Nigeria on topics related to civil/military affairs.  In  particular, he/she will act as a resource person for the regional  offices.

The candidate should have academic background in one of the  social sciences or law, and working experience related to  civil/military affairs.  He/she should be able to interact  effectively with military and civilian personnel in Washington  and Nigeria.
